Glossary

TermDefinition
Health E-Learning and Media (HELM) Team

A combined team of Academics, Learning Technologists and support staff which are based in the School of Health Sciences, University of Nottingham.

Peer Review 1

Peer Review 1 is undertaken when the specification is complete. It is typically undertaken by a colleague who has some knowledge of the subject area and uses a document created by the HELM team to structure the review and feedback. The Author can then review the feedback and make any changes they feel are required.

Reusable Learning Object (RLO)

Short, self-contained, interactive and mutlimedia online learning resource with a single learning objective.

RLO Specification Tool

An online tool which allows content authors to create their specification, preview a RLO-like version of their speciifcation before the specification is reviewed.

WYSIWYG editors

"What You See Is What You Get" editors allow you to format / style your text input as you like seeingexactly how it looks. The RLO Specification system utilises this type of editor to give authors a little extra control over their content.
