Getting Started with the Reusable Learning Object Specification System

8. Inserting an Example Activity within an RLO Specifcation

The RLO Specification System features an Activity Catalogue which lists examples of activities developed within RLOs on the HELM Open website. These can be useful starting points for indicating activities within a section. Once inserted they offer the ability to provide additional information relating to how the activity might work in the context of the RLO being developed.

To add an example activity, click the “Insert Activity” icon and the user is presented with a dialogue window listing a series of pedagogical objectives. Clicking on any of these will show any activities which meet this objective in the form of a table with a screenshot, title and description. Clicking the corresponding “Select Activity” radio button followed by the “Insert to Section” button will close the dialogue window and insert the details of the activity directly in to the text field. There is a highlighted area to provide contextual information.
